What a debut! 24 points, 12 boards, on 10-15 FG! But here's what's even better:
The Lakers beat the Nets in New Jersey, 105-90. Kobe scored 6 points (his lowest output in over a year), on 3-13 shooting, and had 7 TO (thanks mostly to a dislocated pinky finger he suffered in the 2nd quarter). And the Lakers still won by 15 over an athletic New Jersey squad.
After the game, Kobe raved about how much easier the game is having Pau. When Kobe can have a game like that, and still be gushing afterwards, that's amazing. The Lakers are a brand new team, and this is without Bynum even being back.
L.A. is 3-1 on their current 9-game road trip, so let's see how they finish up before I can actually make any proclamations. But it's a good start.
